Our primary objective was to have a name that reflected our roots and our product. Southeast Asia’s mango is something everyone encounters and enjoys in this part of the world .The Mango product’s primary design goals of power, simplicity and speed reflect the simple beauty of the mango, the power users get from enjoying it and the speed at which they are consumed !

Who built Mango ?

Mango was built by Aruna Technology Ltd. Aruna Technology is a geomatics firm that has been active in Asia for over a decade. Aruna Technology is a truly international company with customers in many countries across four continents. This international theme is continued in our staff members with nationals of Australia, Cambodia, Canada, England, Estonia, South Africa and Wales on the team.

What language support does Mango offer?
A:
Mango uses the open source Mapserver in order to generate images from datasets, therefore we support all languages supported by Mapserver; please follow this link for a list of languages currently supported.
Q:
Does Mango require any plug-ins or downloads?
A:
No, one of the primary objectives for the Mango design team was to build a powerful web mapping system which would work on any computer with a web browser and an internet connection without the need for additional downloads, installs or plug-ins.
Q:
Do I need specialised staff to run the system ?
A:
No, you do not need any specialized GIS or IT staff in order to run a Mango web mapping system. As Mango is a turnkey solution we provide everything you need to run and maintain a state-of-the-art web mapping system. Our support staff will take care of everything from installation through data upload and system backups.
Q:
Do I need any hardware to run the system?
A:
No, Mango is a hosted solution which means the system resides in our U.S-based data center. As a result you do not need to have any servers, IT support personnel or other equipment in order to run Mango.

What do I need to provide to you in order to get a system online?
A:
All we need from you is a dataset. You can either provide a fully processed dataset where by all formatting and cartography has already been outlined or you allow us to perform the data preparation and cartography. Please see the pricing section of this site for a cost break down.

Can I host Mango at my office or data center ?
A:
Although Mango has been primarily designed to be delivered as a hosted turnkey solution, there is also the option to have the system installed in your own office or data center. Please contact us at mango.sales@mangomap.com for further details.
Q:
How long does a Mango Map take to implement ?
A:
Once a complete and processed dataset has been received your web map will in most cases be online within 48 hours. If you require additional services such as data preparation or custom web pages, this time frame could increase depending on the volume and complexity of those services.

How much data can I serve up ?
A:
There is no upper or lower limit to the amount of data that you can serve up via the Mango system, in terms of the total size, geographical area or number of layers. At Mango we have a comprehensive range of hosted solutions that can meet the needs of any project regardless of its size or complexity.

Can I restrict access to the site or datasets to certain users?
A:
Yes, this functionality is available to users of the Mango Groups and Mango Pro solutions. Via an intuitive web-based administration interface, you can manage members, groups and permissions giving you full control over who can see what within your system.

What data types are supported?
A:

How secure is the data I give you and who owns it after I have given it to you?

The team at Mango has over three decades of combined experience in the GIS industry and fully understands the importance of data security. Your data is housed in a secure U.S-based data center in which all servers are monitored 24/7. You or your organization retain full ownership of your data at all times. Aruna Technology Ltd., the makers of the Mango system, will NEVER copy, sell or otherwise compromise your data. Data provided to users over the Mango system arrives in the form of GIF tiles, so the source data is never sent to or seen by any system user.
